It can be quite difficult to sometimes redecorate the kids room since it is really hard to come up with solutons that are easy to keep under control. For your livin groom you can usually do whatever looks good, but with the childrens room you have to think of ways that will make it easier to clean and tidy up after playtime. There has to be a lot of different storage units, but at the same time they have to be well organized and fit with the decoration of the rest of the house. You don’t want your rooms to be too different from each other – that way you will lose the harmony inside your home.

With children you also have other problems when redecration is concerned. You will have to be able to make the design  as flexible as possible, because soon the kid will be pre-teen and he or she won’t accept those baby wallpapapers and furniture. If you have made too radical “kids room” choices, you are going to be facing a situation where you will most likely have to take down the whole design in the room, and re-decorate it completely. That will cost a lot and when kids grow up there are a lot of other places where you could feed the money.

A great choice is to start with a traditional kids room design. Buy a loft bed to separate the sleeping area from the rest of the room – this will also prevent your children from playing in the bed and messing up the sheets all the time. Under the loft there will be a good place to put many of the storage units that you will get, or to put a table for drawing. These can easily be changed once the child grows and you can combine them nicely with the loft design. The trick here is to find a loft bed that is versatile, and for that you can usually gain most from a contemporary design bed. Something that is plain and minimalistic with a neutral color like silver which will work well with anything.

If you think that your kids are not old enough to be sleeping in a loft bed, then getting a normal bed is the best option. There really is no age limit there, but it depends on the physical capabilities of your kid and the level of maturity.
